Our Work
We care about the future of our children, that's why we spread awareness of sexual abuse. We love being a part of something that is going to empower children and adults survivors to take care of themselves. The Fight the Silence Team thanks you for your continued support!

01
Fight The Silence 5K Challenge 2017
We are thrilled to share that the first event ever hosted by Fight The Silence was a resounding success! Our goal was to raise awareness about child sexual abuse and to support survivors by hosting a 5K run at Rotary Park in Columbus, GA. Through the hard work of our team and the support of our community, we were able to donate $300 to the Columbus Wellness Center. We are grateful for the opportunity to make a difference and look forward to continuing our efforts to combat child sexual abuse.
02
Basketball Tournament 2017
Basketball has been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember, and I am filled with gratitude for the Buena Vista Recreation Department for sponsoring a basketball tournament to raise awareness about child sexual abuse. It was a heartwarming experience to find a fun and engaging way to bring attention to such a sensitive topic. This moment made me proud of my community and is dedicated to making a positive impact. I wish we had pictures!

03
Fight The Silence 5K Challenge 2018
Our second 5K event was a success! We were able to raise awareness about child sexual abuse and donate $100 to Harmony House in LaGrange, Ga. This donation will help support their vital work in providing a safe haven for survivors of abuse.

Becca's Box 2020
We had an absolute blast putting together Becca's Box, our unique and personalized fundraiser designed to spread awareness about child sexual abuse. Our carefully curated box included a custom Fight The Silence t-shirt, the survival story of our founder, Rebecca Swan, a Fight The Silence journal for sharing your own story, and a beautiful candle to serve as a simple reminder to be the light that this world needs. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who became a part of something bigger than all of us by ordering a Becca's Box. We sold 50 boxes and our reach extended far beyond our local community, with boxes making their way to Washington, South Carolina, Kentucky, and Michigan! Thank you for joining us in the fight to end child sexual abuse.

I AM A SURVIVOR
At Fight The Silence, we believe that self-care is an essential part of healing for survivors of childhood sexual abuse. That's why we hosted a survivor self-care giveaway, where we filled bags with carefully curated items designed to encourage survivors to prioritize their own well-being. Each bag included self-care items along with personal letters of encouragement. We hope that these gifts remind survivors that they are not alone and that they deserve to be loved and cared for.
06
Support Group 2021
We hosted a free virtual Finding Hope support group for adult women who are survivors of childhood sexual abuse. This group was designed to provide a safe and supportive space for survivors to come together, share their experiences, and find healing through community. We believe that survivors of childhood sexual abuse should not have to suffer in silence, and we are honored to have been able to offer this support. We remain committed to providing resources and advocacy for survivors of child sexual abuse, and we are grateful for the opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of those who have experienced this trauma.

07
Fight The Silence 5K Challenge 2021
Our third 5K fundraiser event was a tremendous success, allowing individuals from all over to participate at a location and time of their choosing. With the support of our amazing community, we were able to raise awareness about child sexual abuse and donate an incredible $151 to The Younique Foundation, now rebranded as Saprea. This donation will provide survivors of child sexual abuse with hope and the resources needed to heal.

Teach Erin's Law 2022
At Fight The Silence, we are passionate about preventing childhood sexual abuse and empowering children with the knowledge and tools they need to stay safe. Super excited to have had the opportunity to teach Erin's Law, which educates children about safe versus uncomfortable/inappropriate touches and secrets. By teaching children to recognize and speak up about uncomfortable or unsafe situations, we can help prevent child sexual abuse and create a safer environment for all children. We are proud to have been a part of this important work!
